As an affiliate state society of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), the Hawaii Society of Radiologic Technologists (HSRT) now possesses the right to send two (2) state delegates to the ASRT’s Educational Symposium and Annual House of Delegates Meeting the last weekend of June each year.

Those selected will represent Hawaii and the interests of the HSRT when voting on new laws, regulations, and ASRT by-laws that will affect Hawaii at the national level. Delegates’ travel and hotel are arranged and paid for by the ASRT (the delegate will be responsible for any costs related to changes to the travel or hotel arrangements made by the ASRT). Food per diem (according to the IRS per diem rate) is paid to delegates 2-3 weeks after completion of the House of Delegates meeting.

The HSRT and Kapiolani Community College (KCC) may also choose up to two (2) students to participate in the ASRT’s annual Student Leadership Development Program, in addition to participating in the ASRT’s Educational Symposium and Annual Governance and House of Delegates Meeting. The student(s) will learn about the purpose of a professional society, develop leadership skills, be introduced to processes and procedures of our professional society at the national level, and will be able to network with other members from other states. Travel and hotel accommodations will be arranged and paid for by the ASRT for the selected student(s).
